About Me

Painting of Monet’s Garden at the Orange Park Art Guild Exhibit at the Jewish Community Center.

I am passionate about helping families. I have worked as an Arts and Literacy ambassador for the Bass Museum, Miami Beach in their Community Outreach program. I also taught Arts and Literacy classes for the Bass Museum at the Miami Book Fair. To reach the community during Art Basel Miami Beach, I volunteered as a docent for the Bass Museum. I have also won awards for my work in family programs for the Navy.

My blog will help families connect through art and explore diverse art forms. My Art Workshops meet the educational standards for art teachers.

I’ve visited close to 80 lighthouses. I have painted lighthouses in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Louisiana, New York, London and Ireland.

According to research information from the Association for the Advancement of Arts Education, the arts are effective in keeping kids in school, in reaching students at-risk and students with distinctive learning styles, and in helping to develop a more disciplined educational environment in which students’ energy are directed at learning and creating.

The arts not only make education more interesting, they literally make learning accessible to many students for the first time. (How the Arts Contribute to Education. Association for the Advancement of Art Education.)
